Three abducted as gunmen invade Kwara community
No fewer than three persons have been abducted by gunmen suspected to be kidnappers at Owoyale village along the Oro-Agbamu road in Irepodun Local Government Area of Kwara State.
According to reports, two brothers, Alhaji Moshood Owoyale and Alhaji Abdulkazeem Owoyale, along with Alhaji Moshood’s wife, were reported to be abducted after the gunmen stormed the village on Saturday night at around 10:00 p.m.
Confirming the incident in a statement on Sunday, the spokesperson for the Kwara State Police Command, ASP Toun Ejire-Adeyemi, said, “The Kwara State Police Command is aware of the unfortunate kidnap incident that occurred on 1st February 2025 at about 2200 hours. We have deployed tactical teams to ensure the safe rescue of the victims and bring the perpetrators to justice,” Ejire-Adeyemi stated.

“It was reported that unknown armed men stormed Owoyale village along oro-agbamu road and forcefully whisked three persons to an unknown location: Alh Moshood and Alh Abdulkazeem Owoyale (siblings), and the wife to Alh Moshood.
“The Police, alongside the vigilante/hunter groups, have swung into action, combing the forest to rescue the three victims unhurt and apprehend the criminals behind this act.
“Further developments on the outcome will be communicated as it progresses,” she added.
She, however, assured that law enforcement authorities are actively investigating the case.
