Five kidnapped as gunmen attack Kwara community

No fewer than five persons have been kidnapped following an attack by suspected gunmen at the Odu-Eku Community, Isin Local Government Area of Kwara State, the Police have said.

According to a statement on Thursday by the spokesperson to the command, SP Toun Ejire-Adeyemi, “The Kwara Police Command is aware of a kidnap incident that occurred at about 0115hours of 15/01/25 at the Odu-Eku Camp in Odueku Community of the Isin LGA of Kwara State; where five persons were kidnapped.

“Two males and three females have been moved to an unknown location. Immediate deployment has long taken place; the Police, alongside the Vigilante, are on a rescue mission.

“Further updates will be communicated as it unfolds,” she added.

Gunmen attack Nasarawa community, kill seven

It was earlier gathered that the gunmen suspected to be kidnappers abducted five individuals, including a mother and her daughter, in Odo-Eku, a community in Isin Local Government Area of Kwara State.

The assailants stormed the community and whisked the victims away to an unknown location on Wednesday at about 1:30 am.

Elder Ogundeji, the Odofin of Odo-Eku, while confirming the incident, said gunmen stormed the homes of their victims overnight and abducted five people.

“The victims are Hausa farmers who live in Odo-Eku.”. “Among them are a woman, her daughter, another woman who was visiting, and two men.”
