A suspected electricity cable thief has died after he was electrocuted in the early hours of Wednesday in Dawanau, Dawakin Tofa Local Government Area of Kano State.
The tragic incident occurred at Kano Electricity Distribution Company transformer located along Dawanau-Dawakin Tofa road, outskirts of Kano metropolis.
The deceased vandal, who was said to have gone to the transformer along with some accomplices to steal some items, lost his life when power was suddenly restored.
However, Head of Corporate Communications, Kano Electricity Distribution Company Ibrahim, Sani Shawai, confirming the incident said, “A vandals decided to vandalize Yadin Dawanau transformers in the middle of the night, but unfortunately, service was brought back which resulted in the death of one of the vandals.”
