PDP stalwart, Baba Idris names daughter after Saraki’s wife, appreciates people for support

Peoples Democratic Party, PDP stalwart, Baba Idris last Saturday, named his daughter after Saraki’s wife, Barrister Toyin Saraki, mentioning the names as Princess Laylah Toyyiba Ya’Yagi Oluwatoyin Ademilayo.

In a statement sent to THE INFORMANT247 on Wednesday in Ilorin, Kwara State, Idris expressed his gratitude for the show of love before and during the naming ceremony of his daughter.

The Saraki loyalist appreciated the former Senate President, Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki, and his wife, Mrs Toyin Saraki for their support towards the success of the naming ceremony.

The statement which quoted Barrister Toyin Saraki, said, “The Baby’s nickname is Miss Congress because she was delivered on the 16th of October 2021 which was the same date the Kwara PDP held the most peaceful State Congress despite the huge crowd in attendants.”

According to the statement, Mrs. Saraki named the Baby after herself, adopted the baby as hers, and supported the family with cash and gift items through Wellbeing Africa.

Idris thanked the Etsu Patigi for the usual supports and the fatherly role to uphold the customs and tradition during the naming ceremony.

He, however, acknowledged the support of the political bigwigs from PDP and APC, Kwara PDP youths, especially the powerful media advocates, members of the Devoted Minds, stakeholders and youths from Patigi PDP, saying that it is not possible for him to mention all the names of everyone who had supported.

Idris said, “It is not possible for me to mention all the names, but please, pardon me for the mistakes, omission and oversight.

“I am honoured and cannot find the right words to convey my depth of appreciation for your support and genuine demonstration of goodwill towards me and my family. Saying thank you is inadequate as an expression of my gratitude to you all.

“May God bless you all for supporting us and taking out time from your busy schedule to attend the naming ceremony of our princess.”
