The suspected kidnap leader, Hardo Usman Adamu, who’s standing trial for alleged kidnapping and criminal conspiracy lost consciousness and fainted on Monday when he was showed up before an Ilorin high court in furtherance of his trial.
He was arraigned before Justice Adenike Akinpelu of the Kwara State high court in Ilorin alongside two other suspects.
His lawyer Barrister Adebayo Adelodun SAN, persuaded the court to grant him bail on the ground of ill health, so that he could have access to medical care at the hospital.
Barely minutes following the entrance of the eyewitness into the courtroom, the suspected kidnap kingpin, Usman Garba lost consciousness and fainted.
The presiding judge ordered that the suspect should be hospitalized to the General Hospital Ilorin for medical care.
Justice Adenike has adjourned the case to January 9, 2022, for further trial.
The entire Fulani Community leaders and stakeholders in Kwara State, on Tuesday called on the first class traditional monarch, Emir of Ilorin, Dr. Ibrahim Zulu Gambari, to immediately place Hardo Usman Adamu on suspension, till his court trial is concluded.
It was learned that the suspected kidnap kingpin holds the chieftaincy title Shugaban Fulani of Kwara State.
This was revealed on Tuesday in a statement signed by 11 leaders of the Fulani community.
The statement reads: “the request is premised on the fact that our integrity and uprightness as a tribe has been seriously battered by the arrogance of Hardo Usman Adamu for the said office.
The statement which was made public by the Secretary to Kwara state Fulani community, Muhammad Madibbo stated that: “As a law-abiding community in the state, we urge you most humbly to suspend the Hardo Usman Adamu pending the determination of the alleged case against him and pledged suitable judgment to who partook in kidnapping any citizens” the Fulani leaders pleaded.
Madibbo has implored the Emir to place the suspect on suspension and replace him with another person who will serve in acting capacity and control the affairs of the Fulani community in the state till the appointment of a substantive Hardo for the Emirate.
