One of the sons of the late first class traditional monarch, Alaafin of Oyo, Akeem Adeyemi, has been announced the winner for the Atiba/ AFIJIO/ Oyo East/ Oyo West federal constituency seat.
The Informant247 learned that Adeyemi is the incumbent representative member for the federal constituency and is returning to the Green Chamber for the third time.
The result was announced at the collation centre located within premises of the office of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Oyo East local government area in the Akunlemu area of Oyo.
The son of the late traditional ruler who vied for the position on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) conquered other candidates with 34,822 votes.
The candidate on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) got the total vote of 31,671, the candidate of the Accord Party, Oyedemi Oyeleru secured 13,544 votes, while the candidate of the New National People’s Party, NNPP, Oyekalu Rashid Oyegbami had 588 votes.
The Informant247 recalls that Akeem Adeyemi, in 2015 and 2019 won the federal constituency seat.
