Skill much better than certificate, NYSC tells corps members

The 2021 Batch C stream 1 Corps members undergoing orientation exercise in the Benue State have been advised to make use of the opportunity provided by the scheme’s Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development Programme.

The State Coordinator of NYSC, Abe Dankaro, made the call on Tuesday at the Camp’s Multipurpose Hall in Wannune.

He advised the corps members to learn a skill or more for more effective service delivery and dexterity in life.

Dankaro advised the youths against over-dependence on their certificates or illusive white-collar jobs “irrespective of your class of degrees acquired”

He equally took time to guide and inform the prospective corps members on funding options, post-camp training and other related issues.

According to the statement issued by the Public Relations Officer, Grace Ogwuche, the coordinator said that the youths will be exposed to twelve different skill sets while on camp for the next nine days, after which they will continue with Post Camp training.
