Shao residents lament condition of roads

The residents of Shao community of Moro local government have lamented the condition of their roads.

The road, constructed during the administration of Sha’abah Lafiagi in the ’92s, is the access road to Malete, which host the only state-owned varsity, Kwara State University.

Speaking with a resident of the community, Mr Oke Olumide narrated to THE INFORMANT247 correspondent that the poor state of roads networking in the community is severely affecting the development of the community. He further explained that some of the surrounding villages experience a lot of difficulties, because there is poor access road to thier villages.

“We’ve called the attention of the last government, but unfortunately we don’t see any reaction, neither do this present administration pay our community visitation since their time in office,” said Mr Oke Kolawole.

Condition of road

Another resident, Yusuf Ibrahim said, “The present conditions of the road not only poses a challenge of trading and economic activities of the people in the district, but has also been a death-trap for drivers and traders who ply the road on a daily basis.”

He therefore appealed to the state government to support the community by giving prompt attention to the road.
