Shagaya trains, equips Ilorin West/Asa hairdressers for business success
The member representing Ilorin West/Asa Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Muktar Tolani Shagaya, has concluded a two-day intensive hairdressing training programme for selected beneficiaries across the constituency.
The programme, aimed at promoting self-reliance and economic empowerment, equipped participants with modern hairdressing skills, professional tools and equipment, as well as start-up capital to enable them establish and sustain their businesses.
The initiative was implemented in collaboration with the National Centre for Agricultural Mechanisation (NCAM) and Mai Concepts Technology.
Speaking on the initiative, Shagaya reaffirmed his commitment to empowering women, men and youths across Ilorin West/Asa Federal Constituency with practical skills and resources capable of improving their livelihoods and reducing dependence.
He said his office would continue to support programmes focused on human capital development, economic independence and sustainable livelihoods for constituents.
According to him, the initiative aligns with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the human capital development and poverty alleviation efforts of Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.
The beneficiaries expressed appreciation to Shagaya for the initiative, describing the provision of training, equipment and start-up capital as a significant step towards helping them become economically independent.
They also commended the lawmaker for what they described as his consistent commitment to youth and women empowerment, praying for continued success in his endeavours.
One of the participants said, “Leaders like Hon. Shagaya are rare. If we had more people like him, the world would be a better and fairer place where everyone can live with dignity and have something to fall back on, without depending on anyone for survival.”
The lawmaker assured that his office would remain committed to initiatives that empower constituents, create opportunities and contribute to the socio-economic development of Ilorin West/Asa Federal Constituency.
