Rilwan Sulyman declares for Ilorin south assembly seat, seeks elders’ backing
A chieftain of the S.O.F Foundation and Convener of the SOLID Movement, Alhaji Rilwan Olawale Sulyman, has formally declared his intention to contest for the Ilorin South House of Assembly seat in the 2027 general elections.
Sulyman made his ambition known during a visit to members of the Ilorin South Elders Forum, held at the residence of Alhaji Alamoyo in the Opomalu area of Ilorin, where he also sought their blessings and support ahead of the race.
Addressing the elders, the aspirant said his decision to join the contest was driven by a desire to serve the people and deepen grassroots representation. He noted that engaging critical stakeholders, especially respected community leaders, remains central to his political journey.
Sulyman commended the developmental strides of Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, stating that the progress recorded across sectors has further inspired him to contribute his quota at the legislative level.
He assured the elders that his candidacy would prioritise the needs of young people, women, and the elderly, while promoting unity and inclusive development across Ilorin South.
According to him, his background in community service through the S.O.F Foundation has equipped him with the experience and understanding required to deliver impactful representation.
Members of the Elders Forum, known for their influence and advisory roles in the district, received the aspirant and listened to his plans, as he emphasised the need for continuous consultation and people-oriented legislation.
Sulyman’s declaration adds to the growing list of political activities ahead of the 2027 elections, signalling early mobilization and consultations within Ilorin South constituency.
