Nigerian President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, on Thursday, approved the appointments of some executive directors for the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) and the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), the agencies under the Federal Ministry of Marine and Blue Economy.
Tinubu, in a statement by his spokesperson, Ajuri Ngelale, said the appointments were with the firm belief, after studying their impressive profiles, that the appointees will expeditiously and efficiently execute their collective mandate to create the conditions required to significantly raise the contribution of the Marine and Blue Economy Sector to the nation’s GDP.
The appointees for the Nigerian Ports Authority include Ms. Vivian C. Richard Edet, who was appointed Executive Director, Finance and Administration, while Engr. Olalekan Badmus is the Executive Director of Marine and Operations. Engr. Ibrahim Abba Umar would serve as Executive Director of Engineering and Technical Services.
While for the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency, Mr. Jibril Abba is appointed Executive Director of Maritime Labour and Cabotage Services; Mr. Chudi Offodile is Executive Director of Finance and Administration; and Engr. Fatai Taye Adeyemi is the Executive Director of Operations.
