POS operator kill himself over N520,000 loan debt In Abuja

Ibrahim Haruna, 35, was reported to have committed suicide over the N520,000 loan he borrowed from friends to manage his Point of Sale (POS) business.

According to the deceased’s younger brother, Isah Haruna, things were not going well for his brother and he was certain the debt was the reason his brother drank ‘otapiapia’.

“My brother once jokingly told me that he would kill himself because of the pressure he was getting from people to return their money, but I always told him everything would be okay,” he said.

One of the residents, Yinka Ogunleye, who expressed shock at the news, said, “He called many friends earlier on that day informing them that he was embarking on a very far journey?

“He even visited various joints in the area before heading home to take the otapiapia.”

A health worker at the Kubwa General Hospital, who pleaded anonymity, and confirmed the incident said that his remains had been taken to the morgue.
