A 20-year-old Oluwadamilola Aworinde was arraigned in Ibadan by the police over alleged assault on a policeman.
Aworinde, whose address of residence was not revealed, has been dragged before an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court for manner capable of causing breach of the peace and assault.
Aworinde, has however, pleaded not guilty.
Mr Ibrahim Toyin, the prosecutor, informed the court that the defendant carried out the offences on Oct. 19, at 11. 30 a.m. at Idi-Odo Felele, Ibadan.
The prosecutor also raised an allegation that Aworinde shouted at and subjected the police officer, Mr Olaogun Tajudden, to humiliation in a public domain while the officer was carrying out his lawful assignment.
He also made an allegation that the defendant also assaulted the police officer by beating him.
He also declared that the offences were in contravention of Sections 249(d) and 356 of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.
Mrs O. A. Enilolobo, who was the Magistrate, decided to grant the defendant bail in the sum of N100, 000 and two sureties in like sum.
The case has been adjourned by the magistrate until December 21, for hearing.
