Polls: Nigerian Police have done well — IGP, Usman Alkali Baba

The Inspector General of Police, IGP, Usman Alkali Baba has commended the Nigerian Police Force, saying they have done well in monitoring the governorship and state assembly elections across the federation on Saturday March 18, 2023.

The police boss revealed that force would commence investigation into some of the infractions noticed during the electoral activities.

The message of commendation by the IGP was revealed in a statement released by the Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Muyiwa Adejobi.

According to Adejobi, the IGP revealed the above remark while patrolling and monitoring the governorship elections in Kafanchan, Kaduna, and Jos in Plateau state.

He said, “The patrol by road commenced. Saturday 18th March, 2023, as the concoy moved through Abuja, Bwaari, Jere, Kwoi, Kafanchan, Jos, and Kaduna.

“The IGP interfaced with senior officers of the NPF, military, and paramilitary at various points while on the patrol.

The IGP added, “We believe we have done well in policing the electoral process, while we promise to investigate some of the infractions identified during the polls”.
