The Police Command in Kwara State parades some suspected notoriuos armed robbery terrorising the Ilorin metropolis.
This was done today, shortly after the press briefing held at Ilorin.
The Commissioner said, one Idowu Jimoh and a colleague who is still at large, Taiye plumber, were involved in snatching of vehicles from their victims at gunpoint.
“Intelligence through the help of members of the public led to the arrest of one suspect one Idowu Jimoh, who upon interrogation confessed to the crime, and led investigators to recover the vehicle in Ajase-ipo while effort still in progress to arrest one Taiye Plumber his accomplice, who is presently at large, case still under investigation.”
Also, two armed robbery suspects, Emmanuel Daniel and Lucky Okwudegbo were arrested for robbery attacks on Easy Kay filling station around Saw Mill area of Ilorin.
“On 23/10/2017, at about 0650hrs, one Soliu Yusuf Olatunji of Easy Kay filling station Saw Mill area Ilorin reported that, the above filling station was attacked by four armed men, the security guard of the station injured and tied, while the sum of #35,500 and one itel phone was stolen. On the strength of this information, the investigation that ensued led to the arrest of two suspects; Emmanuel Daniel and Lucky Okwudegbo who confessed to the crime and other similar attacks in Ilorin metropolis”
Items recovered from them includes an Iron rod, two techno phones, one itel phone, and the sum of #38,985.
The Commissioner however assured that efforts were still ongoing to arrest the remaining suspected gang members who are said to be in possession of fire-arms.
