The Kwara State Police Command has arrested a notorious cultist, Qudus Alaya, who is said to be responsible for death of Alimi Aliu, alongside seven other suspected cultists in Ilorin.
The suspected cultists are; Yusuf Olatunji, Salami Adesola, Sunday Oluwatobilola, Ridwan Musa, Sodiq Bakare, Quadriceps Adele and John Paul Nditusi.
This was revealed by the Kwara State Commissioner of Police, Mr Lawan Ado at a press briefing in Ilorin today.
He said, on 2nd of November, 2017, two of the suspect, Qudus Alaya and Yusuf Olateju were arrested at Oke-Foma area of Ilorin.
He noted that the suspected cultist were members of the dreaded Eiye Confranternity responsible for the killing of Alien B. Ahmed, Alimi Aliu, Mumuni, Omo Alhaja, and one Yusuf.
“On 2/11/2017 at about 1930hrs, at Oke-Foma area Ilorin, responding to a distress call by the command’s Anti-corrosion Squad resulted in the arrest of one Qudus Alaya and Yusuf Olatunji”
“Upon diligent investigation, the remaining six suspects who were also members of the dreaded Eiye confraternity cult responsible for the killings of Alien B. Ahmed, Alimi Aliu, Mumuni, Omo Alhaja, and one Yusuf, were arrested and their weapons recovered.
The Commissioner said One single barrel locally made gun, one double barrel locally made gun, and five live cartridges were recovered from the suspects.
He however said the suspects would be charged to court as soon as they are done with their investigation.
