In a tragic series of events, another teenage herder, Abdulhamid Ahmad, 17, has been brutally stabbed to death in the Nbar community of Bokkos Local Government Area, just days after the death of 15-year-old Yusuf Adamu, who is currently hospitalized after a similar attack.
Abdulhamid Ahmad’s life was cut short while he was grazing, falling victim to a sudden attack by unidentified youths who stabbed him and abandoned his lifeless body.
The personnel of Operation Safe Haven from Sector 5, a security task force in the area, recovered the corpse.
This incident follows closely on the heels of the stabbing of 15-year-old Yusuf Adamu in the TCNN area of Jos South Local Government Area.
Yusuf, rearing cattle in the TCNN – Bukuru general area, was attacked on Sunday by unknown assailants, resulting in critical injuries. He is currently in the ICU at Plateau Hospital.
Dauda Suleiman, Yusuf’s elder brother, recounted the distressing discovery, stating, “Towards evening, I went back to search for him. I called one of the youth leaders in the area, who assisted me in the search. Later, we found Yusuf lying down, stabbed with a knife and covered with leaves. I immediately called security, and he was rushed to Plateau Hospital.”
Some suspects were apprehended by Operation Safe Haven (OPSH), sector 5, while two remain at large.
The state chapter chairman of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN), Muhammad Nuru Abdullahi, confirmed the incident and urged caution.
As Plateau State grapples with these tragic incidents, security agencies are being called upon to take immediate and decisive measures before the situation escalates further.
