Peter Obi’s victory in Lagos was a surprise, we can’t allow such again — APC chieftain

The assistant spokesperson of the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential campaign, Bidoun Ajiboye has referred to the success of the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi in Lagos State during the February 25 presidential election as “an insurgence upon our political fortress.”

He said the performance of Obi in the February 25 election in the state came as a surprise.

The Informant247 recalls that the presidential candidate of the LP overpowered the presidential candidate of the APC who’s a former Governor of the state.

Peter Obi who hailed from Anambra State polled 582,354 to defeat Tinubu (a Lagosian) who secured 572,606.

While reacting to the development on Tuesday March 14, during a television interview, the APC chieftain said his party has woken up and would not allow the repetition of such episode.

“We were caught unaware to a larger extent. It was like an insurgence upon our political fortress. They came without us expecting but now that they have done it.

“We are now very much awake and know where and what to do to ensure that a repeat of such calamity does not happen. People do not understand the enormity of what it would mean for the Labour Party to win Lagos state,” he said.

The governorship candidate of the LP in the state, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour has developed motivation from the political outing of Obi, as he now energetically aspires to unseat the incumbent Governor of the state, Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
