PDP guber candidate, Kale Kawu, empowers Oju-ekun/Zarumi youth, promises more support
The Peoples Democratic Party governorship candidate in Kwara State, Engr. Sulaiman Bolakale Kawu Agaka, has extended financial support to members of the Oju-Ekun Oke Youth Forum during an engagement with youths in the Oju-Ekun/Zarumi Ward of Ilorin West Local Government Area.
Kawu, the Dan’iya of Ilorin Emirate, was represented at the event by the Deputy Director of Youth Mobilisation of the Kwara State PDP, Mallam Tunde Babamale, who presented cash gifts and souvenirs to members of the youth forum.
Babamale was accompanied by the founder of the BAAO Foundation, Hon. Abdulhakeem Olayinka Ateere.
Speaking on behalf of Kawu, Babamale said the gesture was aimed at strengthening grassroots engagement and supporting community-based youth initiatives.
He added that the engagement marked the beginning of a sustained relationship between the governorship candidate and the group ahead of the 2027 elections.
According to him, the initiative reflects the vision of the PDP’s national leader, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, to support and empower people across Kwara State.
The event was attended by several ward stakeholders, including the patron of the association, Lawyer Abdulazeez Musiere; the Ward Chairman, Audu Maruf; the forum’s coordinator, Sanni Abdulrasheed; and its secretary, Sanni Muhammed Awwal.
Responding, the forum’s coordinator, Sanni Abdulrasheed, appreciated Kawu for the gesture and pledged the group’s commitment to mobilising youths and women across the 12 polling units in Oju-Ekun Oke for the PDP ahead of the 2027 elections.
Also speaking, Lawyer Abdulazeez Musiere commended the PDP leadership for choosing Kawu as its governorship candidate, expressing optimism about the party’s prospects in the forthcoming election.
The engagement formed part of the PDP’s ongoing grassroots mobilisation and stakeholder engagements ahead of the 2027 general elections.
