PDP behind poverty of 133 million Nigerians — APC chieftain, Bala Ibrahim
A stalwart of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Bala Ibrahim, has said that the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, was the cause of the poverty battling over 133 million citizens of Nigeria.
The chieftain of the APC has blamed the main opposition party for the fast growing poverty rate in the country.
He said that the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration has made many people who are into rice farming millionaire since it came on board in 2015.
Ibrahim made this remark while speaking on a television programme on Monday.
The Informant247 recalls that the National Bureau of Statistics, NBS, indicated that 133 million Nigerian people are living in multidimensional poverty.
The NBC report also revealed that 65% of those living with poverty came from the north, while 35% of them from the south.
Ibrahim said, “I am happy the NBS did not say it is the APC that impoverished Nigerians.”
“This poverty that has taken control of Nigeria is as a result of the misrule of the PDP for 16 years. The APC, since it came into power, has been doing everything to uplift the standard of living, to take people to the place of their ambitions, and it promised to provide succour, and it is doing so.”
