The Nigeria’s Vice President Professor Yemi Osinbajo has presented discharge certificate of Ughelli power plant to the chairman of Transcorp Power Plc, Tony Elumelu.
The national council on privatization NPC held its meeting on Monday after the handover ceremony.
The Informant247 understands that an organization receives a discharge certificate after it had credibly fulfilled all righteousness and obligations.
The Tony Elumelu led organization is the key investor in the power plant which has got its approval.
This came after the organization had fulfilled five cardinal post acquisition requirements and the recommendations of the Public Enterprises (BPE) welcomed by the NPC.
The Informant247 recalls that the organization became the owner of the power plant in 2013.
The requirements met by the organization were corporate social responsibility, health, environment, available capacity, human resources, safety, capital expenditure.
