Osimhen’s lone goal sinks Roma as Napoli maintains unbeaten run
Victor Osimhen’s lone goal was all that Napoli needed to secure yet another maximum points in a Serie A heavyweight clash against AS Roma.
The Nigeria international profited from a Chris Smalling defensive blunder ten minutes to the end of the game and fire a shot past the goalkeeper inside the box.
Osimhen, who recently returned from injury has now scored three goals in three consecutive games, making it all five in all competitions in the current season
The 23-year-old has established himself as a key player for the Azzurri since his big-money move from Lille in 2020, scoring 33 goals and providing 10 assists in 71 appearances across all competitions.
Napoli have now gone 11 games unbeaten as they continue to the quest to clinch the league title which they last won in 1990.
The Luciano Spalleti’s side still maintain their lead on the table with 29 points, three points above their close rival, AC Milan.
Napoli, who have already qualified for the UEFA Champions League round of 16 will play against Rangers on the 26th of October.
