They said, many were called, but only a few were chosen. It is a distinctive privilege that Mallam Is’haq Modibbo Kawu is in the retinue of the few privileged ones. What more is the definition of success than excelling in one’s line of calling?
IMK, as we, his undaunted aficionados fondly call him is one of the consummate pressman in
contemporary Nigerian media enclave – his expertise traverses the three genres of the media as he boasts over forty-two year experience spanning Television, Radio and print journalism.
Asides being a seasoned and accomplished journalist, Moddibo is what in Arabic tongue referred to as “Tayar almaerifa” (تيار المعرفة) meaning the stream of knowledge. When he speaks, you will want him to speak tomorrow and next because he always spew inspiration and development initiatives.
Although, I am not surprised that you chose the traditional path of your fitness in the area of intellectualism – prominent among them was Ahmad Abi Bakre Omo Ikokoro, who was a renowned cerebral Islamic scholar in Ilorin and Africa. He is a hardened bibliophile who never stops replenishing his fountain of knowledge with new stream of erudition.
A true Dahiri of Garin Alimi – you are a daredevil individual with outstanding reputation, who bares his mind no matter whose ox is gored. Oga, you are an archive of Ilorin historical milestones and norms who is chiefly concerned about the growth and development of the Emirate – an altruist to the marrow. I am not making a mountain from a molehill to say you represent the old and current Ilorin society.
Sir, It is a divine grace today, that you live to enjoy your diamond jubilee. You have been a quintessential mirror through which we have learnt great social virtues. One of the many excellent values I had learnt from you is social conscience – your love for the downtrodden and the oppressed is exceptional. Your actions and inactions usually inspire others to dream for more, we learn more from you, we do more and become more inspired by your incorruptible dealings. You are a true leader.
You are a source of motivation to every young folk as your passion for youth development is a hallmark you are known for.
A happy 60th birthday to a historian and selfless liberator par excellence.
IMK, with his belligerent pen, has been leading the onslaught against the dark days in kwara state. His struggle started long before others even started to take a cue.

In fact, you’re a leader in the struggle.
Posterity will always reminisce how you remained dogged soldier in the Kwara liberation vanguard.
