Official: PSG part ways with Mauricio Pochettino
French Giant, PSG has relieved Mauricio Pochettino of his job as the Manager of the Team, Club statement said on Tuesday.
“The club would like to thank Mauricio Pochettino and his staff for their work and wish them the best for the future”.
“The Argentinian coach and his staff had joined the capital club in January 2021. Former captain of the Rouge et Bleu, he made 84 matches on the Parisian bench”.
Under his leadership, Paris Saint-Germain won the 2020 Champions Trophy, the 2021 French Cup and the 10th French championship title in its history, last April.
The team played 84 matches, won 56 games,15 draws, 14 defeats in total with the former Tottenham Hotspur’s Manager.
Meanwhile, Christopher Galtier has been appointed as new PSG manager with contract until June 2024.
“Campos’ presence was decisive. I accepted Paris Saint-Germain job with lot of humility but with great determination”.
PSG’s top priority remains winning the UEFA Champions League and the club over the years has attracted top players and Managers of the World.
Crashing out of the Champions League at the round of 16 stage seems to be one of the key reasons for his departure.
Christophe, the new Manager helped Lille won the Ligue 1 in Pochettino’s first season at PSG and he is expected to raise the bar of the team while also managing the ‘big boys’ .
