Offa General Hospital has no coronavirus case – CMD
The Chief Medical Director, Offa General Hospital, Dr. Abdulsalam O.M, on Tuesday, said the hospital has no case of Coronavirus.
He disclosed this in a press statement made available to newsmen.
The statement reads in part, “I want to categorically state here that there is no such case(s) of COVID-19 seen at our hospital, but we are on red-alert with high index of suspicion, as doctors and nurses are already empowered with requisite knowledge on case definition of corona virus (COVID-19).
He however said what was close to the rumour are purported cases of COVID-19 been peddled by unscrupulous elements in the community around the “Blue hostel” area of Offa and another one at a private hospital in the community.
He added, “Myself and the Disease Surveillance and Notification Officer (DSNO) for Offa Local Government as well as the representative of HOD Health of Offa LGA swiftly swang into action to administer the Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC) case investigation form (Form AO) to the supposed cases with none of them meeting the criteria for case of COVID-19.
“Let me assure you all that the hospital is fully ready and empowered to identify cases and admit such into our “Holding area” in the hospital for onward transfer to the State Isolation Center at Sobi Specialist Hospital, Ilorin.”
