Obaseki sworn in for second term

Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki has been sworn-in for a second term in office.

The Governor was sworn in alongside his deputy, Philip Shuaibu.

The swearing-in ceremony took place at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin, the state capital, on Thursday, November 12, 2020.

The incumbent governor had defeated his closest rival, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu during the last governorship election in the state.

Obaseki, who was the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, had, in keenly contested gubernatorial election defeated Ize-Iyamu of the All Progressives Congress, APC.
