The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has said that no life was lost in the sudden fire incident which broke out at its headquarters in Abuja, on Friday.
Mr Eddy Megwa, who’s the Director of Press Relations, made this revelation in a statement released on Friday.
He also said that the fire was immediately extinguished by the Federal Fire Service Departments and Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
He said the inferno broke out about 7:30am, and affected the third floor of the six-storey structure.
Megwa also revealed that the floor accomodates the General Service Department and the Planning, Research and Statistics, as the fire destroyed only a room housing electronic gadgets.
”Fortunately enough, no life was lost and all vital documents were promptly evacuated and safeguarded.
”The management of the scheme heartily appreciates the Federal and FCT Fire Service Departments for their prompt response which minimised the effect of the incident.
”Management also appreciates all security agencies for the invaluable roles they played during the unfortunate incident’,” he added.
