ASUU: Enough is enough, Buhari tells varsity lecturers to call off strike

President Muhammadu Buhari has bemoaned the action of the striking Academic Staff Union of Universities for not calling off its industrial action, saying enough is enough for keeping students at home.

He said this on Monday in Daura, Katsina State, when he received some governors of the All Progressives Congress, legislators, and other leaders at his residence.

Buhari urged the lecturers to reconsider their stance on the prolonged strike, noting that the strike would have generational consequences on families, the educational system, and the development of the country.

The former Governor of Borno State, Kashim Shettima has reacted to his choice as the running mate to Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.

The Informant247 had earlier reported that the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress for the 2023 election, Bola Ahmed Tinubu has confirmed Senator Kashim Shettima as his running mate.

Shettima, has via Facebook on Monday, revealed he has met with Tinubu in Abuja, and thanked the national leader of the party for choosing him as his running mate.

He said he was paying visit to children who have been turned orphan by Boko Haram in Borno when news of his selection came to him.

Kwara: Hoodlums rape seven-month pregnant woman in husband’s presence

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Kwara State, has arrested three suspects over the alleged rape of a seven-month pregnant woman in Woro village in the Kaiama Local Government Area of the state.

The suspects: Lawal Ibrahim, 25; Mohammed Issa, 19; and Ibrahim Ahmed, 20; were also alleged to have robbed the woman and her husband.

The Public Relations Officer of NSCDC in the state, Ayeni Olasunkanmi, who confirmed the incident, said one of the three suspects, Lawal, was arrested while trying to sell some items stolen from the home of the couple.
