A Nigeria Premier football league (NPFL) referee, Dr. Kingsley Nnaemeka Eneogwe has lost his live in a fatal motor accident.
The Referee, who in his lifetime was a member of Abia State Referee Council was reportedly dead in a motor accident which occurred on Thursday.
“Dr Eneogwe, died in a fatal motor accident yesterday(Thursday) on his way back to Abia State base from Kaduna through the Lokoja-Enugu road as part of officiating crew who handled one of the Nigeria Premier league matches on Wednesday. He was the Assistant Referee 1 of the Week 5 match; Nassarawa United vs Plateau United” a statement from the Nigeria Referees Association(NRA) said.
The deceased according to the NRA was a medical doctor by profession, who after passing out from Federal Government College, Ohafia went to Abia State University where he studied Medicine and Surgery and practiced as a Medical Doctor until his demise.
“Dr Eneogwe whose mother, a teacher and also a Referee obtained Grade One in 2012 and went through the levels of national matches from Nationwide to National League Matches later gained promotion to Premier League about four years ago. He was once invited for Fifa Listing exercise by the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF Referees Committee in Abuja” NRA added.
