Nigerian army rescue six kidnapped victims in Kaduna
The Kaduna State government has revealed that the troops of the Nigerian Army, during their clearance patrols, around the Kangon Kadi general area in Chikun Local Government Area, saved six kidnapped victims.
The victims that were set free are Iliya Gide, Rabi Ali, Hussaina Gide, Naomi Nuhu and her baby, as well as Pamela Barage.
The State Commissioner, Ministry of Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan, via a statement revealed that, “troops of the Nigerian Army rescued six kidnapped victims during clearance patrols conducted around the Kangon Kadi general area in Chikun Local Government Area.”
The statement added that the troops, under the “Operation Forest Sanity”, had a clearance operation from Damba to Kangon Kadi, and opened fire on bandits’ hide outs around the Kangon Kadi forest, Labi and the Udawa river.
He stated, that the bandits ran away from the Kangon Kadi area as a result of firepower of the troops.
The kidnappers left behind six kidnapped victims at their camp, leading to their safety.
The statement noted that Governor of Kaduna state, Nasir El-Rufa’i revealed the report with sense of gratitude, and thanked the army for its unrelenting efforts across several paths.
The statement gave an assurance that the citizens would be updated on other developments by the State government.
