Nigeria fuel tanker fire destroys at least 10 buildings – Official
Lagos, Nigeria (The Informant247) – A fuel tanker exploded in Nigeria’s southwestern Ogun state early Saturday, destroying at least 10 buildings, officials said.
“Though, no life was lost or any injuries sustained, about 10 buildings were consumed in the incident,” the South West coordinator of National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Mr Ibrahim Farinloye said in a statement issued shortly after the incident on Saturday.
He said the incident happened at about 7.00 am.
“The situation was mitigated with most of the content spilling into the canal close to the scene,” he said. “This saved the community from a serious incident that could have affected more people.”
The official of NEMA, however, added that the fire had been extinguished.
