The former federal lawmaker, Senator Shehu Sani has said the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, Godwin Emefiele may not have anyone to defend him when President Muhammadu Buhari concludes his government.
The popular social critic described the condition of Emefiele after Buhari’s government as that of “Zebra in the hands of Tigers”.
He made this revelation on the popular micro blogging platform, Twitter.
The Informant247 recalls that supporters and loyalists of the president-elect, Bola Tinubu accused the CBN boss of initiating the cashless policy, as strategy to make the APC chieftain lose his presidential bid.
The Informant247 earlier reported that the Supreme Court ruled that the old N200, N500 and N1,000 notes should remain legal tender till December 31, 2023.
The apex court also condemned the naira redesign policy, and described it as an affront to the 1999 Constitution.
The apex court admitted that the cashless policy has made people adopt trade by barter in this new age in an attempt to survive.
The court described the disobedience of the president to the February 8 order of the court as a sign of dictatorship.
Sani said the CBN chief may be helpless as those who stood against the cashless policy may come after him after May 29, 2023 when Buhari leaves power.
“When Baba is gone, Emefiele will be like Zebra in the hands of Tigers,” he tweeted.
