Mobile court convicts 25 in Benin for illegal parking
A mobile court in Benin on Wednesday convicted 25 people for illegal parking.
The State Prosecuting Counsel, Mr Ayo Aigbokhiade, said that all the convicts who were apprehended within the Benin metropolis, pleaded liable
Presiding Chief Magistrate, Mr Mutairu Oare, ordered the convicts to pay a fine of N20,000 each.
He, however, cautioned and discharged two other offenders who were arraigned for trading in an unauthorised place.
Also discharged was one driver who was able to prove before the court that his vehicle had fault and that his illegal parking was not intentional.
Oare said the fine was in tune with non-custodian sentencing of offenders. (NAN)
