Lagos state police have dragged a masquerade before an Isolo magistrates’ court, Lagos, for attacking a woman with a dagger.
The man behind the mask was identified as Supiamu Abubakar, 28.
He reportedly might have fallen in love with the victim without her knowledge of it.
The prosecutor, Inspector Oje Uagbale, informed the court that the masquerade attacked the victim because she did not give him attention.
The prosecutor said the incident happened on May 14, 2022, on Nelson Abido Street, Ajao Estate, Lagos.
He said, “My Lord, the accused masked himself and hiding under the cover of darkness attacked the lady with a dagger.
“This is a pure case of attempted murder, my lord. The accused stabbed the victim, Victoria, while putting on a mask. The victim sustained injury in the process.”
The police confirmed that the alleged did not only inflicted wound on the victim but also damaged the woman’s phone.
The accused, told the court he’s not guilty of the allegations.
The Magistrate, Mrs O. Kasumu, gave the accused bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum.
The case was however adjourned to June 6, 2022.
