The alumni of the Ma’sharul Al-Adaby Al-Kamaly Islamic and Arabic Institute held the maiden edition of its Ramadan lecture on Thursday.
The program not only served as a venue for all the alumni to meet but also offered an opportunity for the former students to further reaffirm their commitment to the development of the citadel of learning.
The alumni, from far and near, converged on the school premises in Ilorin, Kwara State capital, to mark the auspicious occasion.
Speaking to journalists after the program, the National Missioner of Ansarul Islam Society of Nigeria and the founder of Ma’sharul Aladabiy Al-Kamaliy Islamic and Arabic Institute, Sheikh Abdulmumin Hanafi Ayara, commended the alumni for organizing the program.
“I would like to commend all the alumni students for this wonderful initiative. We are very happy to see them keeping the values and ideals of Sheikh Kamaldeen Al-Adaby alive,” he said.
He prayed to Almighty Allah to grant them the enablement to continue upholding the teachings of Islam.
Ayara also seized the opportunity to call on the government to reduce the cost of governance in response to the current economic hardship facing the country.
According to him, a prudent approach to the management of the nation’s resources and a visionary approach to the economy will put the country on a sustainable path.
Delivering the lecture on the topic of the event, “lasting solution to economic inflation: Islamic perspective,” the guest speaker, Sheikh Kamaldeen Sofiyullahi Kamaldeen, who is a lecturer at the College of Arabic and Islamic Legal Studies (CAILS), called on the government to be proactive in tackling the economic hardship facing the nation.
He outlined the importance of Zakat, including the elimination of bribery and corruption in governance, adherence to official regulations in trade and transaction, offering help to the needy, and equal distribution of wealth in creating a virile economic system that will stand the test of time.
