The Kaduna State Police Command have arrested an unidentified man for allegedly macheting his girlfriend to death.
The spokesperson of the state police command, DSP Muhammad Jalige confirmed the incident in a statement released on Friday April 21.
Jalige narrated that the police command was on April 14, 2023 communicated about the incident around 9:30pm.
The suspected killer was about to be burnt to death by a crowd around the NEPA Roundabout in the Kaduna metropolis.
The spokesperson added that the police operatives met the unconscious body of the suspected killer on the ground as he was circled by an angry mob.
The suspect had launched an attack on his girlfriend at Old Command Secondary and Nursery School on Sokoto Road.
He injured her on her arms, hands and face while the injury on her left hand was severe.
According to the police, the man said he has invested so much resources on his girlfriend and she wanted to break up with him after all he has done for her.
The victim was quickly hospitalized to a teaching hospital for medical attention, where she eventually gave up the ghost.
Jalige said, “The victim was rushed to Barau Dikko Teaching Hospital, for treatment. A doctor on duty confirmed she was dead.
“The corpse of the lady has been deposited at the same hospital, for an autopsy.”
