A 42-year old man, Kazeem Bakare, was on Thursday, remanded in a correctional facility for stabbing a man to death.
He was remanded on the directive of an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court , Ibadan on Thursday.
Bakare whose address of residence was not disclosed was charged by the police, with murder.
Mrs O. A Akande, who’s the Magistrate, rejected Bakare’s plea for want in jurisdiction.
She ordered the police to transfer the case file to the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) for necessary legal advice.
She has adjourned the matter until December 19 for the legal advice of the DPP.
The Prosecution Counsel, Mr Philip Amusan
earlier informed the court that the defendant allegedly carried out the offence on October 20, around 9. 30 a.m, at Onimalu area, Ibadan.
Amusan made an allegation that Bakare was behind the death of 40 year old Jelili Saka, when he hurt him with a broken bottle of beer in the neck.
He added that the offence was a violation of the provisions of Section 319 of the Criminal laws of Oyo State, 2000.
