Making Kwara clean is everyone’s responsibility: Environment ministry

The Kwara State Ministry of Environment has pointed out that it is the responsibility of all stakeholders to ensure that the state is kept clean.

The Ministry’s commissioner, Mrs. Banigbe Remilekun Oluwatobi disclosed this while meeting board members of the Kwara State Environmental Protection Agency (KWEPA).

Banigbe, who noted that having teamwork will lead to achieving success, said the agency will be adequately carried along on any decision making for smooth relationship the current administration progress.

“KWEPA is part of the ministry but a parastatal board, we are one, we will all do it together for the state to be in order,” she added.

For his part, the KWARMA’s chairman, Pastor Paul Zhiri Twosa, said the agency needs to be revived as it had a lot of challenges at hand.

He, therefore, plead with the ministry not to deprive them of their functionary roles but be carried along on environmental management issues.

Pastor Twosa emphasized the need for the resuscitation of the agency in all spheres as the job needs thorough supervision and enforcement.
