Rev. Fr. Godfrey Gopep, the Parish Priest of St. Finbers’ Catholic Church, Rayfield, Jos, has charged Christian youths to be of good conduct and live a Godly lifestyle at all times.
Gopep gave the advice in his sermon on Sunday in Jos and urged them to live lifestyles worthy of emulation.
The cleric who decried the surge in worldly and evil lifestyles among young people in the society, said that Christian youths must be “shining examples.
“You must be seen to be shining examples to others, particularly the unbelievers among you.
“Your lifestyles must be that which others will be willing to emulate; you must be of good conduct at all times”.
Gopep also advised young people to love and respect their parents, particularly at their old age.
He expressed concern that most children won’t cater for their aged parents, adding that such acts were evil and ungodly.
He maintained that parents go through a lot to meet the needs of their children, “but majority of children neglect their parents at old age.
“Most parents today sacrifice their happiness and enjoyment just to give a good life to their children.
“Most parents today don’t wear good cloths, eat good food and drive exotic cars, just to secure a better future for their children.
“But when the future comes, the children will neglect their parents and even squander what the parents sacrificed to save for them on frivolities.
“Young people must be seen looking after their parents at their old age. (NAN)
