Literacy day: BBYDI calls for digitization of educational sector
A non-governmental organization, Brain Builders Development Youth Initiative (BBYDI) has urged all stakeholders and policymakers at all levels to prioritize the digitalization of the educational sector, saying the Covid-19 pandemic has exposed the technological loophole in the sector.
The organization further noted that the year 2020 has disrupted the learning process and this has exposed the loopholes in our learning system as no programmes could tackle the lost learning process.
It said that the learning process throughout the world was on halt for a period of time until the introduction of virtual means of learning which has massively kept students away.
The group revealed that a lot of students were still at a disadvantage, as the less privileged with little awareness of the crisis had no access to alternative opportunities to advance their education.
The organization, however, urged the government and various stakeholders to develop and train teachers to be technologically savvy, build right and necessary infrastructures and facilities which would enhance the learning process.
