The Kwara State Independent Electoral Commission today conducts test for candidates who applied to participate in the upcoming local government poll electoral process in the state.

Candidates who came for the test, which is scheduled to hold by 1pm today, 5th of November, poured out their frustration over what they described as poor preparation by KWSIEC officials, as most centres visited started late and officials were seen moving up and down in confusion.

THE INFORMANT247 correspondence who visited some centres within Ilorin metropolis observed that aside the delay that characterised the start up in some centres, several hours behind schedule , candidates had to contend with the overpopulated classroom used in conducting the test.

One of the several candidates who spoke with THE INFORMANT247 correspondent in PAKE LGEA Primary School was Abdullahi Yusuf who came from Oke-Oyi to write the examination.

Yusuf said he felt sad that KWSIEC could not live up to its promise. In his words, he noted “ I have been here since 12:00pm. However, the test is yet to start and as you can see it’s 4:00pm already. The KWSIEC officials are just coming in and going out. Even the coordinator is not around yet”.

The same scenario was witnessed at BABOKO COMMUNITY SECONDARY, where the test was scheduled to hold for Ilorin West candidates, the candidates slated to begin the exam at 1:00pm stood under the sun as at 2:30pm, the officials were only seen discussing in group and counting some printed papers.

One of the KWSIEC officials approached told our reporter that hitches were expected but promised that very soon, all the issues raised would have been addressed.

“ Today, we expected little challenges; though we have prepared ahead of it, but the question papers provided for the candidates are not enough, we just went to photocopy new ones” – said an Official who spoke on the condition of anonymity.

Asked how many candidates were inside the examination hall, he replied: “Why are you concerned about the number of candidates? For the delay, it is normal because the process just began yesterday. “

Another junior Official at BABOKO COMMUNITY SECONDARY SCHOOL was so frustrated by the ways things were being done.

” It’s so sad how the process is going. Even the coordinator is not around by now. We told candidates to come by 1:00pm, but the time is 2:30pm now and we are yet to start. Well they have told us not to speak with the press. But even we, the officials, are not comfortable with how the process is going.

At UNITED COMMUNITY SECONDARY SCHOOL, an official was seen revising the training of the previous day to the candidates. A situation which angered many who thought it was a way of intentionally delaying the process.

“We have been here since morning, they are only delaying us with one useless test. We know their plan, they only want to manipulate the process for their shortlisted candidates. Why are they wasting our time if not? – questioned a candidate who only identified himself as Tunji.

THE INFORMANT247 has exclusively reported the issue of some leaked test questions. It was reported that the KWAISEC officials leaked out the questions to their private candidates few hours before test.

However, THE INFORMANT247 was not able to get across the KWSIEC chairman. Dr. Usman Ajidagba as his numbers were not reachable till the time of filling this report.
