Following a rumour circulating on the internet that 3 out of 6 Kwara Inland Revenue Service (KWIRS) directors in the early hour, today tendered their resignation letters citing personal reasons for opting out of the service, theinformant247 contacted the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Abdurrahman, Rafiu Ajakaye to further substantiate the report, but the CPS termed the rumour as misleading.
“That information (here quoted that the directors have resigned) is misleading. Mr Segun Olaniyi has retired on attaining the age 60 in January with the expiration of a 6 month extension on July 15. However, four other directors have given the KW-IRS notifications of expiration of their 4 year tenure due in September 2019. These directors are: Mrs Adenike Babajamu, Mr Lekan Rotimi, Alhaji Laide Nuhu Muhammad and Alhaja Iyabo Abubakar. Going by by this, except Mr Olaniyi who has retired, others are still there now until their tenure expires in September. Thanks,” he added
