The Dean, Faculty of Engineering, Professor Christopher Odetunde, has been appointed the Vice Chancellor of Augustine University, a private Catholic-owned university sited in Ilara, Epe Local Government Area of Lagos State.
This announcement was contained in a five-paragraph congratulatory message signed by the Director of University Relations, Mr. Abdulrazaq Sanni.
Parts of the statement read: “The Vice Chancellor, Kwara State University, Professor Muhammed Mustapha Akanbi SAN, on behalf of the Management, staff and students of the University wishes to congratulate Professor Christopher Odetunde, on his appointment as the Vice Chancellor of Augustine University, Ilara – Epe, Lagos State.
“Professor Odetunde is a Professor of Astronautical and Aeronautical Engineering in Kwara State University. He was until his appointment as the Vice Chancellor of Augustine University, the Dean, Faculty of Engineering, KWASU.
The new Vice Chancellor is known for his scholastic erudition and administrative acumen. It is clear that Augustine University will have a lot to benefit from his expertise and experience,” Mr. Sanni said.
In his letter to the University authority, Professor Odetunde assured the management of his unflinching support and unreserved involvement in the growth and nurturing of KWASU Astronautical and Aeronautical Department – a department for which KWASU is reputed to be the first university in Nigeria to swing it.
The appointment, which is for a term of five years, takes effect from 5th October, 2020.
