KWASAA speaks on removal of billboards along Ahmadu Bello Way, vows to end illegal advertising structures in Kwara
The Kwara State Signage and Advertisement Agency (KWASAA) has vowed to end illegal advertising billboards and signages across the State.
The General Manager of the Agency, Al-Imam Ismail Asukuti, stated this while answering questions on the Radio Kwara programme titled “The Platform” on 99.1 FM, assured Kwarans that the agency will continue to promote best global practices in the signage and outdoor industry of the State.
Commenting on the recent directive on Ahmadu Bello Way and other places in Ilorin, Asukuti said the aim was to beautify the affected areas, adding that some government establishments and ministries were equally affected.

He, therefore, called on practitioners, individual stakeholders, and the general public to support the state government’s efforts in turning it into a mega city.
The Informant247 reports that the Kwara State Signage and Advertisement Agency (KWASAA), on January 4, directed all billboards and signage owners, including private and government entities, to remove all forms of outdoor advertisements erected along the Ahmadu Bello Way, including the first flyover to the second flyover, along Murtala Muhammad Way, Ilorin with immediate effect.
According to a statement by Abubakar Owolabi, the agency’s press secretary, the General Manager of KWASAA, Alhaji Imam Ismail Asukuti, urged the affected individuals, ministries, parastatals, agencies, and commissions, saying the directive was part of government’s commitment to the growth, development, and transformation of the State, particularly in advancing its city reform agenda.
