Comrade Malik Mubaraq has been elected president of Student Union Government (SUG) at the Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin.
Mubaraq emerged winner of the election after gathering a total of 1,026 votes through an e-voting system.
He defeated two other opponents, Gambari Nurudeen and Aremu Wasiu who were able to gather 791 and 328 votes respectively.
The post of vice president went to Oluyede Titus and Asonibare Kehinde was elected general secretary.
The posts of PRO and speaker went to Balogun Ibrahim and Atoyebi Oluwaseun respectively.
Speaking on this development, the Kwara NANS chairman, Comr. Salami Wasiu laud the electoral process, describing it as free, fair and credible.
He said, “I commend the effort being put in place by the Management and Director of Students’ service, Kwara state Polytechnic Ilorin.”
“I congratulate Comr. Malik Mubarak Olasukanmi and urge him and other elected executives to make use of their offices to make impact that the students will feel. Students’ Union Government is not an avenue to enrich ones pocket, but to sacrifice for the interest on the Students,” he admonished.
