Youth in Kwara State on Thursday urged the state governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq to contest for a second term in office.

Speaking at a Press Conference in Ilorin, the state capital city, the group leader, Comrade AbdulMajeed AbdulFatai commended the governor for his giant stride which cut across all sectors.

Comparing AbdulRazaq’s administration with the previous one, he said the uprooting of Saraki’s dynasty in 2019 ended decades of misgovernance, impunity, enslavement of the masses, and tokenism.

He added that Governor AbdulRazaq needed a second term in office in order to sustain his ongoing infrastructural reformation and to ensure effective management of the state’s resources.

He said, “The AbdulRazaq government has brought Kwara out of UBEC blacklist, Basic education is now getting optimum attention, civil servants are now getting their pay as at when due, from a state notorious for annual rituals of deaths and negative media headlines arising from stampede bred by prebendal politics, Kwara today runs the largest and most transparent social investment programme at subnational level, including the bi-monthly stipends (Owo Arugbo) for vulnerable senior citizens. Nothing more best captures the situation of Kwara in 2019 and now.”

“On behalf of the Youths, the women, the students, the children, artisan, the farmers, the religious leaders, market women, the entrepreneurs and the business owners are, however, prevailing on the Executive Governor of Kwara State Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq to declare his interest to run for second term in office as the governor of Kwara state,” he added.

“The Youth are honestly assuring him of their absolute support and will try anything humanly and spiritually possible to see him run for the 2nd term and by God’s grace, Kwarans will continue to be great,” AbdulFatai concluded.
