Kwara relocates free medical outreach amid security concerns
Following growing insecurities that cost many lives and displaced many in the Northern and Southern part of Kwara State, the Kwara State government, through the Ministry of Health has announced the relocation of the 2025 Medical and Surgical Outreach Programme for Ifelodun Local Government Area, previously scheduled to take place at the Specialist Hospital, Oke-Ode, to the Cottage Hospital in Omupo
Dr. Amina Ahmed El-Imam, the State commissioner for health made this known in Ilorin, the Kwara state capital, saying the relocation followed a review of security concerns in parts of the State and was aimed at ensuring wider accessibility and improved service delivery to communities within the local government area
The outreach, which is part of the government’s sustained efforts to deliver quality healthcare services across the State, will now hold on Tuesday, 14th October 2025, at the new venue, and is poised to provide free medical consultations, surgical procedures, and other essential healthcare services designed to enhance the well-being of residents.
Dr. El-Imam urged residents of Ifelodun LGA and neighbouring communities to seize the opportunity, reiterating the government’s commitment to safeguarding and prioritising the health of its citizens.
