Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC in Kwara state, Bashir Omolaja Bolarinwa has inaugurated the state, local government, and ward executives in the State, charging all party members to come together ahead of the 2023 general elections.

The inauguration followed a decision of the National Executive Council, NEC, of the party, which dissolved all structures of the party at the state, local government, ward, and unit levels.

THE INFORMANT247 reported that after the dissolution, the Governor Buni-Led national caretaker committee inaugurated Bolarinwa to head the party hierarchy in the state, with a charge to inaugurate new leaders at the state level, LGAs, and wards.

Speaking before the inauguration of other state party executives and the local government chairmen for the 16 LGAs in the state, Bolarinwa stated the need for party men to promote unity and cohesion.

He said, “You will recall that at the onset here too, we had every reason to implode in Kwara APC, but we put our differences aside and won a historic election that will forever remain a reference point in the history of elections in Nigeria.

“This is the time to be forward-looking as we will soon approach another election. We cannot afford to do so as a divided house. We cannot afford to betray the trust reposed in us by kwarans in 2019.

“As we prepare for the registration and revalidation of our membership, I urge us to be aggressive and dogged in our new membership drive.

“In the same vein, the Independent Electoral Commission will commence voters registration in the new year, we must mobilize for the full participation of our members so that it can translate to another electoral victory.

“On this note, let me congratulate you as Caretaker Committee members and also extend my profound appreciation to our numerous members for their patience, understanding, forthrightness and loyalty to the party.”

Their statement read partly, “Kwara APC remains a strong entity considering his leadership style and positive roles in taking the party to a great height.

“We congratulate the party’s Chairman under whose Leadership our party recorded overwhelming victories in all elections. It will be a huge joke to expect that any reasonable manager will change its winning team and chose uncertainty as a replacement.

“What happened in 2019 general elections where our party’s coast 100% victory against a formidable opposition was unprecedented and all these successes manifested under Bolarinwa leadership of the party. As loyal party members and stakeholders, we cannot but keep supporting such a man with a vast party’s administrative skills and tolerance to manage and lead differing interests in the party to unimaginable electoral victories.

“We congratulate and wish Hon Bashir Bolarinwa another landmark success in his efforts in piloting the party before the general Congress next year.”
