A renowned student Non Governmental Organisation, NGO, based in Kwara State Polytechnic popularly known as Goodies Foundation has launched another phase of bringing help to the needy in the school environs basically in remote areas.

This has been another phase out of series done for studentships. The crave for helping the young and the aged people is the core motive. BOYI community in Moro Local Government and LAJOLO community of Kwara State Polytechnic in Ilorin East Local Government Area benefitted from the donation.

According to the chairman of the foundation who is also a student of Public Administration of the school, Usman Peter, “the programme has been on going since years back meaning that it started during the ordinary national diploma days with the collaboration of the school management”.

In his remark, Peter said, “I and my crew have been doing this since my Ordinary National Diploma days with the initiative of the school management. It started by helping the students with financial deficiency, medical challenges and people living with disability with the money sourced from individual donation and groups willing to help.

“It was a great record then while now it is taking another dimension and extension which we are practically implementing.

“I charge the students to be up and doing. We should wait to be spoon fed. It’s high time we contribute what we have learnt in school to impact our immediate communities rather than creating bad image.”

While reacting to the act, the residents who benefited from the measures thanked the founder of the organisation, Kwara State polytechnic management for granting the students such opportunity.
