The House of Representatives on Tuesday observed a moment of silence for the late Nigerian singer, Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, who died at the age of 27.
The Informant247 had earlier reported that the fast-rising singer died on September 12, 2023, and was buried a day later.
However, the lower chamber paid the tribute at the beginning of an executive session at the resumption of plenary in Abuja in honour of the deceased, and subsequently, after a motion of urgent importance was moved by the member representing the Ikorodu Federal Constituency, Mr Babajimi Benson, the House further resolved to monitor the investigation and royalties related to the deceased.
Benson additionally called for the need to review laws in the entertainment industry and copyright laws and expressed concerns about contracts and agreements for entertainers.
In a recent development, Perez Medcare Hospital, where Mohbad was taken, released a statement on its Instagram page on Monday night concerning the singer’s death, where it stated that the singer was brought in dead at the hospital while also denying that the singer was admitted to the hospital.
